Founded in 2014 1st Energy is an energy company dedicated to helping Australians reduce their energy costs and currently operates in Tasmania, New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.  We’re the first competitor retailer to enter the Tasmanian market and believe that our mix of energy savings and great Australian based customer service is something Tasmanians are looking for.

Switching to 1st Energy is easy.  You can sign up online here and once your application is received and approved, you’ll transfer from your current energy retailer to 1st Energy on your next actual meter read.

TasNetworks will remain as your distributor and there are no outages required to switch to 1st Energy.

The Tasmanian Government offers a wide range of discounts and concessions on the cost of government services. The discounts and concessions aim to achieve a balance in the standard of living and access to essential services for all members of the Tasmanian community.  More information on concessions can be found on the Tasmanian Government’s Concessions webpage.

If you change retailers, you’ll need to provide 1st Energy your concession information so we can ensure your concession continues.  Visit our concessions page for more information.

We’re offering customers a monthly estimated bill making it easier for our customers to manage their finances.  Each estimated bill is calculated based on any actual meters reads received and an estimate of the customers usage for that month.

Your meter is usually read every 3 months and if we calculated a previous estimated bill too high or too low this will be automatically adjusted on the next bill issued after receiving the actual meter read.  You can also send us your self-read at any time, have a look here for more information.
