The plans and rates available for your property depend on your meter setup, network tariff and location.
Types of usage charges
- Anytime Usage – A simple, flat rate for all the electricity you use, no matter the time of day.
- Peak & Off-peak – Different rates apply depending on the time of day. You’ll pay more during peak demand times, and less during off-peak periods.
- Time of Use – Pricing that varies throughout the day—typically split into Peak, Shoulder, and Off-Peak times. It rewards those who can shift more of their usage to cheaper off-peak hours.
- Controlled Load – A separate rate for specific appliances (like hot water systems or pool pumps) that run during off-peak hours. It’s billed separately and usually works alongside the other usage types above.
Some existing plans also include demand charges. Check your own bill and plan information for the charges that apply to you.
